Roots and Futures: Advancing the African Scholarly Imagination

For 10 years, the Ife Summer Institute has been involved in research training and capacity-building programs designed specifically for doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scholars working on Africa -related topics across disciplines. The 10th Ife Summer Institute theme “Roots and Futures: Advancing the African Scholarly Imagination,” continues to strengthen participants’ scholarly foundations while equipping them with conceptual, methodological, and professional tools for sustainable academic and professional careers. This call for papers invites doctoral students, postdoctoral and early-career scholars to submit papers and work-in-progress papers that will be refined during the Summer Institute. Submissions should demonstrate clear research questions and theoretical grounding while remaining open to critical engagement and development.
