Library / Research Fellowship (2 months)

Ife Institute of Advanced Studies, Nigeria invites applications for a Library/Research Fellowship for three successful candidates for a duration of two (2) months, to be undertaken at the designated Academic Institution under a mentor in the United States of America or United Kingdom. ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP | PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Library/Research Fellowship is designed to support scholars, researchers, and professionals who wish to utilize the academic resources, library collections, archives, and research facilities under the mentorship of an assigned IIAS faculty within an institution for focused short-term research.

Fellowship Duration: 2 months

Eligibility

  • Applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria:
  • Early-career researchers who have completed their doctoral degree not more than five (5) years prior to the date of application
  • Faculty members or researchers affiliated with a recognized university or research institution, provided their PhD was awarded within the last five years
  • Independent researchers with a doctoral degree completed within the past five years and a demonstrated research record

Areas of Research

  • Applications are welcome from all disciplines supported by the academic and library resources, including but not limited to:
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • STEM (Sciences and Technology)
  • Interdisciplinary Studies

Fellowship Support

  • Access to library collections, archives, and digital resources
  • Workspace within the library or designated research area
  • Stipend
  • Travel Allowance
  • Accommodation
  • Books
  • Official letter of affiliation

Application Requirements

Interested candidates must submit the following:

  • 1. Cover Letter with the subject line: “Application for Library/Research Fellowship – [Applicant Name]”
  • 2. Completed application form
  • 3. Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages)
  • 4. Research proposal (1–2 pages)
  • 5. Statement of purpose indicating how the fellowship will support the applicant’s research
  • 6. Letter of recommendation or institutional affiliation
  • 7. Proposed Budget

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by a committee based on:

  • Academic merit and research relevance
  • Feasibility within the two-month period
