The Ife Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS) invites applications for the position of a Program Coordinator to provide administrative and programming support for the project “In Support of African Academic Diaspora Engagement and Mentorship Training.”
This is a two-year part-time position with the possibility of renewal. Employee will be scheduled to work a minimum of 20 hours a week and a commensurate salary will be given. The effective start date will be December 1, 2025.
Position Summary
The Program Coordinator will provide administrative and program support for the IIAS Initiatives, research programs, and scholarly collaborations.
The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Convener, Project Director, and Program Director, as well as with IIAS institutional committees, faculty members, and fellows, towards furthering and advancing IIAS’s mission, vision, and goals.
This role also includes providing support and coordination for the Institute’s events, communication, networking, grant writing, and facilitating the production of the IIAS newsletter and research publications.
Key Responsibilities
- Project and Program Management: Execute project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation under the direction of the Program Director. Deliver timely progress reports and complete assigned administrative tasks.
- Stakeholder and Network Engagement: Act as the primary liaison for IIAS standing committees, faculty, and fellows to advance program objectives. Facilitate the development and coordination of the fellows' and faculty networks.
- Grant and Fundraising Support: Contribute to fundraising efforts by drafting grant proposals, donor communications, and interim/final progress reports.
- Event and Logistics Coordination: Provide end-to-end logistical and administrative support for IIAS events, fellow seminars, academic programs, and webinars.
- Data Management: Maintain and update the central database of IIAS fellows, faculty, partner institutions, and collaborators to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Digital and Communications Oversight: Manage the IIAS's digital presence, including social media channels, website, and virtual conferencing platforms. Support the production and distribution of newsletters and research publications
Required Qualifications
- A doctoral degree and/or Postdoctoral experience in a relevant field are required.
- Professional experience will be considered.

- Demonstrate experience in: Program coordination and administrative support
- Grant writing
- Use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Social media management and virtual conferencing platforms
- Editing and proofreading
- Event coordination and logistics
- Research Experience in African Studies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
